Why "Laboratory Tested" Might Not Mean Your Supplement Is Safe
INTERVIEW: INESA PONOMARIOVAITE - A LABORATORY TESTING AND EXPERT SUPPLEMENT INDUSTRY CEO
Most consumers think that "Laboratory Tested" means that a product is safe. When we see "UL Tested" on a hairdryer, we have every expectation that it's not going to short out and set our hair on fire. Likewise, when we see that a supplement we take to improve our health is "laboratory tested," we trust that the product contains what it says it contains and ONLY what it says it contains.
Inesa Ponomariovaite knows better. As an expert in laboratory testing and the Founder and CEO of one of the fastest-growing supplement companies, she has had first-hand experience with testing laboratories that would curl your toes. Inesa has even had testing labs ask her what she wanted the results of their analysis to show!
Inesa Ponomarioviate is Available to tell you about this potentially dangerous reality.

Quite frankly, the supplement industry as a whole is a mess. From insufficient (to no) amounts of active ingredients in some bottles and products adulterated with mold spores, bacteria, and/or unhealthy or even potentially harmful compounds on the one hand to governments trying to discredit the supplement industry with junk science on the other, what is a health-conscious consumer to do?
THE ANSWER IS RIGOROUS, CERTIFIED THIRD-PARTY TESTING
Third-party testing by a certified and reputable lab should be the first thing a consumer looks for on a product. Unless the label indicates a testing certification, you should assume that it's untested and potentially harmful. Ideally, each bottle would have a code that would let you examine the certificate of analysis (COA) for that batch.
And the testing should be rigorous. It should scan for residual solvents, heavy metals, pesticides, mold and mildew spores, bacteria, and other pathogens.
Unfortunately, most supplement products are never tested, much less by a certified third-party laboratory. And despite a byzantine labyrinth of overlapping FDA and FTC regulations, such testing is not required. Nor are supplement companies required to use an FDA-certified manufacturing facility.
Moreover, most labs only test to parts per million (ppm), which is certainly better than no testing, but even a few mold spores can ruin a whole bottle.
That is why Inesa had Nesa's Hemp, LLC products establish a new industry standard for purity: testing to parts per BILLION (PPB) to ensure that there are no contaminants in any bottle. It is the first hemp extract to receive the Tested Safe Seal and is the world's safest, cleanest, and most effective hemp product. But she doesn't want her customers to to just take her word for it. She codes every bottle to the Certificate of Analysis (COA) for that batch, so Nesa's Hemp customers can review the test results themselves.
ASK INESA:
- WHAT CONTAMINANTS CAN SUPPLEMENTS CONTAIN?
- WHY IS CERTIFIED THIRD-PARTY TESTING IMPORTANT?
- WHY SHOULD USING AN FDA-CERTIFIED MANUFACTURING FACILITY BE REQUIRED?
- WHAT IS "PPB" AND WHY SHOULD IT BE THE NEW INDUSTRY STANDARD FOR PRODUCT PURITY?
Inesa Ponomariovaite’s own life changed the day she received an early morning phone call from Lithuania. On the other end of that call was her mother. “Inesa, I’m dying. I have cancer.” Brokenhearted, Inesa was determined to help her mother in any way possible. She began exploring holistic practices and products, looking for anything that offered solutions. This led to her learning about the endocannabinoid system and the role that CBDa can play in treating cancer and chronic illness.

Inesa has dedicated over four years to studying the endocannabinoid system, becoming an industry expert. With a passion to help her mother, Inesa sought support from experts all over the world. Her standards were high.
She wanted to create an elite product. It had to be 100% organic, and it had to be extracted from seed to bottle without chemicals, solvents, or heavy metals. Put simply, she needed the best and when the best wasn’t available, she went out and made her own! That was the beginning of Nesa’s Hemp – the world’s first-ever full full-spectrum CBDA Hemp Extract.
