Autism now affects 1 in 36 children, according to the CDC.
This is a staggering statistic, especially when reflecting on the adage that "our children are our future".
This is undoubtedly an epidemic as the prevalence of this disorder continues to increase at an alarming rate.
If the current trajectory continues 1 in 2 children will be diagnosed in 2030. The health of the next generation is an obstacle that our society has to face head on.
Over 2 million parents have heard the words 'Your child has autism' this past year, and along with this diagnosis comes the unfortunate misconception that there is no hope for those on the spectrum.
However, every year many remarkable parents, practitioners, and doctors reveal incredible breakthroughs in alternative treatments and therapies proving that this is not a hopeless diagnosis.
One Mother in particular, Tracy Slepcevic, is leading the charge in the autism community. She recently released her bestselling book "Warrior Mom" providing guidance to parents with newly diagnosed children.
"I was determined to make a difference in the lives of those with autism," says Slepceivc, "and with the right guidance and support, many children with autism will grow up to live normal functioning lives with endless possibilities for the future."
"I wrote Warrior Mom to share my journey and valuable lessons I learned to help parents navigate the system & empower their children to thrive. Now through the AHS conference we will continue to spread hope and dispel disinformation!" ~ Tracy Slepcevic
"During the first year of my son's life, he was thriving and met all his milestones. After his one-year-old well-baby visit, he began to slowly regress into a state of autism, losing all his speech, motor skills, and cognitive function."
Tracy's son Noah was diagnosed at age three but with the guidance of her naturopathic doctor thus began her journey to discovering biomedical intervention.
Tracy's son is now eighteen, attends college, drives, and has a bright future ahead of him with no limitations.
